The Global Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Zero-Emission Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles, co-led by the Government of the Netherlands and CALSTART’s Drive to Zero Program, is a collaborative effort among leading countries to accelerate the transition toward sustainable transportation. Under this non-binding instrument, signatories commit to enabling 100% zero-emission new truck and bus sales by 2040, with an interim goal of 30% zero-emission vehicle sales by 2030. This initiative addresses the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions from road freight. By fostering collaboration among governments, manufacturers, and industry players, it accelerates the adoption of cleaner, greener transport.
