Electricity grid infrastructure is critical to enable the clean energy transition and deliver the global pledge to triple renewables by 2030. No transition without transmission.
The Green Grids Initiative (GGI) brings together key actors (including governments, finance institutions, operators, regulators, industry, academia, and civil society) to provide a conduit for investment and assistance to accelerate the deployment of green grids globally.
Demand-led working groups are driving forward priority regional and thematic projects, to address gaps in the international landscape. This includes newly launched technical assistance programmes, including the Electricity Transitions Playbook, as well as coordinating support for critical regional infrastructure projects.
