The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)
The Breakthrough Agenda and WBCSD have partnered together to strengthen public-private cooperation to scale and speed up clean technologies to make them affordable and accessible for all by 2030. As an NGO convening a CEO-led community of over 220 of the world’s leading businesses working across all sectors, with a global network in 60 countries, and as the Marrakech Partnership Focal Point for Industry, WBCSD is ideally placed to support the Breakthrough Agenda to strengthen business engagement to accelerate sectoral transformations.
The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM)
The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) brings together the world’s largest and leading countries, international organisations and companies to achieve a single mission: accelerate clean energy transitions. It is a high-level global forum to promote policies and programmes that advance clean energy technology, to share lessons learned and best practices, and to encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy. The strategic partnership between CEM and the Breakthrough Agenda is helping to strengthen alignment of international action through CEM and other existing initiatives working to accelerate the clean energy transition in major emitting sectors.
Mission Innovation
Mission Innovation’s collaborative approach with public and private sectors to accelerate clean energy innovation makes a major contribution to the Breakthrough Agenda goals. This partnership ensures that the work of MI is coordinated with and amplified by initiatives addressing the other enabling conditions necessary to make clean technology the most affordable and widely available globally by 2030.
